Canal Camping - how it works
Your captain:
Your captain is responsible for the safe navigation of your boat during the holiday. He/she has the relevant boating qualifications and is CRB checked etc leaving you to enjoy your holiday without a worry. The captain’s accommodation is entirely separate in the back cabin of the boat and will in no way intrude on the privacy of your party but can of course be invited to join in with your catering activities and other activities if you wish to invite him/her. With experience and knowledge of boating he/she will be able to teach you how to work locks, handle ropes, steer the boat etc, (we provide ‘windlasses’ the key needed to work the locks) and their local knowledge will keep you well informed regarding places of interest, shops for your catering needs, pubs, take-away and restaurants etc.
Catering:
We suggest that you arrive with enough groceries to get you started.
There is a reasonable but not unlimited amount of storage on board. You will be able to buy groceries along the way.
Accomodation:
Comprises of 8 bunk-beds each with a mattress. You need to bring your own bedding or sleeping bags.
You need to bring your own towels, we suggest a torch, wet weather gear, wellies.
We provide life jackets and please take into consideration that storage space on board is limited.
